How we check every rule

Checked Against Starlink’s own terms and help pages. How we check

Where facts come from

Every rule, amount and date on this site lives in one data file with its source, the exact quote, and the date we read it. Pages pull from that file; nobody types a price or a rule straight into a page. The starlink.com help and legal pages only render with JavaScript, so we read the same data those pages load: the Referral Program Terms document and the referral help articles, plus Starlink’s plan list for prices.

What the labels mean

Starlink’s own text

Starlink's own text: read from the help-center or legal-document JSON that the starlink.com pages load, on the date shown.

Starlink’s earlier text, archived copy

Starlink's own text from an earlier version, read from an Internet Archive copy of the same page or endpoint.

IRS text

Read from an IRS page or IRS form instructions on the date shown.

Press report

Reported by a news site or retailer blog, with that source's date. Labeled wherever it appears.

Our reading

Not stated in so many words. Our plain reading of Starlink's own text, labeled as such.

Unverified

No source states it, or sources conflict. Never shown as a number or a promise.

Changes and news

A rule change goes into the changelog only with a dated source, and says how certain its date is. A news post exists only when something changed, and answers what changed, when, who it affects, what to do and what stayed the same. Changing a date without re-reading the source is not an update, and we don’t do it.

How pages are written

Drafts are prepared with AI assistance and checked line by line against the cited sources. The person who runs the site reviews every page before launch and is responsible for it. We don’t publish invented reviews, quotes, customer numbers or personas. Examples are labeled as hypothetical.

Corrections

Tell us what’s wrong on the contact page. If we agree, we fix it, note the date and the change in the corrections log, and update the page’s check date. If we don’t agree, we reply with the source.
