How this site makes money

One possible source of income, the rules we hold ourselves to, and what it doesn’t change.

The referral reward

Some pages can show a button that opens starlink.com with the personal referral link of the person who runs this site. If you order through it and the referral counts, SpaceX may pay that person a referral reward: $100. You get the same free month and pay the same price with anyone’s link.

Right now: the referral button is switched off everywhere on this site, so this site earns nothing from it.

The button never appears on pages for people who can’t use it (anyone who already ordered, existing owners, friends outside the US), on news, or on legal and trust pages. Wherever it appears, the same box says it’s a referral link, that it’s for US service addresses only, and what the reward is, before you click.

What we never do

Those are the program’s own sharing rules (see sharing rules) plus a few of our own.

The open question about this site

The referral terms bar using Starlink names or domain names “in any manner” without SpaceX’s written consent. This site’s domain contains the word. The person who runs it chose that knowingly; the referral button stays off unless SpaceX gives consent or the owner records a deliberate decision to accept the risk, and it is removed everywhere within a day if SpaceX objects.

What money doesn’t change

Rules are quoted from Starlink’s own text with the date we read them, including the ones that make a referral less attractive. Pages say when a referral isn’t worth chasing. No reward changes a fact on this site; if one is wrong, it goes in the corrections log.

Other income

None today: no display ads and no commission deals with other companies. If that changes, this page changes first, with the date.
