What changed

satelliteinternet.com reported on May 5, 2026 that new Starlink customers in select US areas with spare capacity could get Residential 100 Mbps for $29 a month (regular price then $50), Residential 200 Mbps for $59 ($80) and Residential Max for $99 ($120), each for the first three months. The report quotes: “New Starlink customers can get a subscription for as low as $29 per month for the first three months of service.”

The report lists conditions: new customers only, one service account, and changing plans or suspending the account during the promotion ends the promotional rate. It also mentions free installation in some places and a free Starlink Mini rental with Max.

When

Reported May 5, 2026, with the offer running until May 10, 2026; the report later noted it had ended. This post is more than 90 days old and is kept as background.

Who is affected

New customers at eligible US addresses during that window. It has ended, so it affects no one today except as a pattern: Starlink runs short, address-specific promotions.

What it means for you

A promotion and a referral can apply to the same order. The free month is one month of service on the plan chosen, so when the monthly price is discounted, the free month is worth the discounted amount for that bill. The referral still requires the order to be placed on starlink.com through the link, and the new customer to stay two full billing cycles on a high-speed plan.

The promotion’s own rules mattered too: changing plans or suspending service ended the promo rate. Moving to Standby would also have stopped the referral from counting.

What to do now

Nothing for this offer; it’s over. For future offers, the order page at the friend’s address shows what applies. Have them open your link first, on the device they’ll order on.

What stays the same

The referral reward and the free month were not changed by the promotion.

What we don’t know yet

Which US areas qualified, and whether the free-month credit is calculated on the promotional or regular price in every case. We haven’t seen Starlink text that says.

How to check it yourself

Promotions show up on the order page for a specific address, usually with the promotional period and the regular price after it. Read that fine print before ordering. The promotion we describe has ended; satelliteinternet.com’s report of May 5, 2026 is our record of its terms. If a friend sees a promotion now, the referral’s free month still applies to the plan they choose, as long as they order through the link.
